Lali Mejia

Lali Mejia, a native of Maracaibo, Venezuela, is a percussionist, composer, producer, and music educator specialized in Afro-Venezuelan folklore and Latin American styles of music. Throughout her career, Lali has toured and performed at prestigious music festivals across the United States, the Caribbean, China, and Japan, collaborating with renowned Venezuelan and Latin American artists.

In 2017, she founded Bululú, a vibrant project showcasing the rich musical traditions of her Venezuelan roots and the diverse sounds of the Caribbean, inspired largely by the cultural tapestry of the San Francisco Bay Area.

Driven by a deep passion for storytelling through music, Lali is dedicated to composing original works that uplift the human spirit and explore meaningful societal themes. Her art resonates particularly with the experiences of the Latino diaspora, captivating audiences in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
