Grammy-winning percussionist and vocalist Omar Ledezma Jr., born in Caracas, Venezuela, is a distinguished graduate of Berklee College of Music.

After relocating to the U.S., Omar became an integral part of the vibrant Latin music scenes in New York and Boston. Currently, he teaches percussion at the SF Community Music Center and the California Jazz Conservatory and has contributed to the DISC residency program at the San Francisco Ballet. A founding member of the Ka-Hon Ensemble for the SF Symphony's "Adventures in Music" program, Omar is also a trailblazer in promoting Venezuelan music in the United States.

In 2014, he earned a Grammy for "Best Latin Album" with his acclaimed recording for the Pacific Mambo Orchestra, PMO.
